LAHORE, April 30: Measles claimed lives of four more children in the provincial capital on Tuesday.

Reports said eight-year-old Fatima died at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, eight-month-old Orangzeb at Children’s Hospital and two-year-old Ahmad and one-year-old Maham at Mayo Hospital.

Meanwhile, 160 more children were shifted to various public and private sector health facilities of the provincial capital that showed an upward trend in the number of cases surfacing in Lahore alone.

On the other hand, various teams of the health and city district government continued an anti-measles campaign on the second day on Tuesday.

Taking notice of the negligence in providing anti-measles vaccine cover to the children during the drive, the health secretary ordered a disciplinary action against three doctors, two paramedics and a vaccinator.

Action was taken against them on the basis of the reports of monitoring teams which visited the various localities and submitted their reports to the health department.
