I WOULD like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned towards the growing problem of traffic in Sadar, Tariq Road and Gulshan-i-Iqbal.

There are several swanky malls in Karachi where people from posh localities also come for shopping. The greater the number of shoppers, the higher the number of vehicles that need to be parked, as a consequence of which almost all roads get blocked. In many shopping areas, even service lanes get blocked.

People park their vehicles right next to the markets where they want to shop. Pedestrians face hurdles in crossing roads.

Sometimes they are even hit by cars while trying to do so.

The traffic police should ensure that people don’t park their cars in the wrong places. They should also help pedestrians in crossing roads where there are no zebra crossings.
