TOBA TEK SINGH, Jan 25: A civil judge of Gojra has taken a serious notice of the registration of a case against a nine years old boy on the charge of keeping illegal weapons.

Judge Razaullah Khan has also directed Faisalabad police range DIG to take strict action against sub-inspector Syed Ikhlaq Raza.

Ishtiaq Ahmad, a resident of Chak No 423 JB Chotha Adda, was a class II student of the Government Primary School when Saddar police SI Ikhlaq Raza had on Aug 13, 2002, booked him for keeping unlicensed weapons.

The SI had registered the case against the boy to show his ‘performance’ in a campaign for recovery of illegal weapons. The record showed that the SI had released the boy on his ‘personal guarantee.’

The SI was transferred from Gojra and the nine years old was declared a proclaimed offender when the case trial began.

The boy appeared before the court on receipt of warrants for his arrest and informed the judge that he was not aware about the registration of the case against him.

Ordering acquittal of the boy, the judge directed the DIG to take action against the SI.

PROTEST: The All Pakistan Private Schools Association decided on Saturday to launch a protest campaign, if the district government did not withdraw the commercial tax on private educational institutions.
