ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court ordered on Monday for action to be taken within 24 hours against Islamabad’s Inspector-General of Police, Bin Amin Khan, for failure to arrest former military rule Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf’s, DawnNews reported.

The court had earlier reserved its judgement while declaring Bani Amin Khan responsible for the failure of the capital city police to arrest former president Pervez Musharraf immediately after the cancellation of his protective bail on April 18.

Judge of the IHC, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui said in his order that Khan had lied to the courts and that he was ineligible to hold his post.

Justice Siddiqui further said that no leniency would be shown to Islamabad’s IG police.

Earlier during the hearing over the case a police report was submitted in court according to which responsibility of the incident was affixed on DSP Idris Rathore and Station House Officer (SHO) Qaiser Gilani.

The court was informed that the DSP was suspended from duty whereas a show-cause notice was issued to the SHO.
