LAHORE, April 18: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has brought an independent candidate Mian Aslam Iqbal into its fold and awarded him party ticket for PP-148 after withdrawing it from PTI Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhry.

Following withdrawal of ticket from Chaudhry, it is learnt that PTI Lahore district president Abdul Aleem Khan persuaded Aslam Iqbal to join the party.

Iqbal was elected from the constituency (PP-148) as an independent candidate and then joined the PML-Q and was elevated as Punjab tourism minister.

Talking to media persons here on Thursday, Iqbal claimed that with the support of people of the constituency, he would get a record number of votes as PTI ‘tsunami’ was everywhere.

Meanwhile, the PTI has awarded NA-129 ticket to Chaudhry Mansha Sindhu. He was returned to the National Assembly thrice on PML-N and PML-Q tickets and was defeated by a small margin in 2008 on a PML-Q ticket.
