ISLAMABAD, Jan 25: The US ambassador, Nancy Powell, on Saturday met the federal minister for defence, Rao Sikander Iqbal, at his office in Rawalpindi and discussed matters related to bilateral relations, cooperation in defence sector as well as regional and international issues.

The US ambassador briefed the minister about on-going defence cooperation between the two countries and the progress made in connection with various defence related issues.

Both sides agreed that the level of defence cooperation had increased satisfactorily.

The officials hoped of reaching further agreements during the next round of Defence Consultative Group, which will be held in Washington this year.

The secretary defence, Lt-Gen Hamid Nawaz Khan (retired), was also present on the occasion.
