RAWALPINDI, Jan 25: The additional district and sessions judge, Mohammad Sarwar Sidhu, on Saturday handed over capital punishment to two persons besides awarding life imprisonment to three other co-accused in a murder case.

The court awarded death sentence to Mohammad Iqbal and Sikandar, who had killed a person, Ameen, in the jurisdiction of the Jatli police station over a family feud.

In the same case, the court awarded life imprisonment to the co-accused Akhtar Nawaz, Ajab Khan and Ghulam Mohammad.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs50,000 on each of the convicts, which would be given to the bereaved family as compensation.

However, the court acquitted the sixth person involved in the case, Mohammad Khan, as the defence council succeeded in furnishing enough evidences in support of the accused.

Meanwhile, the civil judge, Javidul Hasan Chishti, awarded ten months of rigorous imprisonment each to three persons for committing a robbery.

The convicts Attiqullah, Izzatullah and Mashkoor Khan had committed burglary in the jurisdiction of the R. A. Bazaar police station. The police had also recovered some of the stolen items from the convicts.

The additional district and sessions judge, Sayyed Pervez Ali Shah, rejected the bail application of an alleged drug-peddler.

The accused, Adnan, was booked by the Ganjmandi police for peddling 165 grams charas.
