KARACHI, March 13: Young Amna Latif shocked second seed Zahab Kamal Khan to advance into the women’s semi-finals of the inaugural DHA Karachi international squash championship at the Asif Nawaz Squash Complex on Wednesday.

The Rawalpindi-based Amna overcome Zahab 9-11, 11-4, 11-6, 11-4 in 44 minutes to set a clash with fourth seed Rushna Mehmoob who got a walkover against Ayesha Zafar.

Top seed Zoya Khalid won over Riffat Khan 12-10, 12-10 as the latter retired hurt before the third game. Samar Anjum halted the run of Madina Zafar imposing to 11-6, 11-8, 11-5 victory.

Meanwhie, top seed Amir Atlas Khan, second seed Nasir Iqbal and fourth seed Danish Atlas propelled into the men’s semis.

Top seed Amir was stretched to limits by Syed Ali Shah Bukhari before registering 11-7, 9-11, 4-11, 11-2, 11-5 victory in 55 minutes.

Second seed Nasir took 42 minute while routing Aqib Hanif 11-8, 11-8, 11-7.

Fourth seed Danish dropped third game while registering 11-9, 12-10, 5-11, 11-5 victory over Khawaja Adil Maqbool.
