The news is the most emotional programme on TV because it shows us harrowing scenes that occur almost daily and remind us how utterly brutalised and dehumanised our nation has been turned into. The sad thing is that TV channels sensationalise real live tragic events by adding dramatic music and shocking computer graphics. There is no discretion whatsoever. Expressions of private grief and mourning are broadcast shamelessly. Watching the news becomes traumatic.
