Dual nationality

Published March 10, 2013

THIS refers to Dr Sohail Kirmani’s letter ‘Dual nationality: some thoughts’ (Feb 25), reflecting on the subject of dual nationality in the context of Pakistan.

As a Canadian Pakistani since 1976, I am gratified to know that the governmental and judicial institutions of the country have duly acknowledged, from time to time, the contributions of overseas Pakistanis in nation-building activities of the country.

Overseas Pakistanis have helped in their own humble way at the time of earthquakes etc which struck Pakistan in the past.

If Pakistanis living abroad are allowed to vote in the forthcoming elections they sure will vote with both their heads and hearts.
