KARACHI, March 9: Eleven teams will vie for honours in the HEC Inter-university Zone ‘C’ boys’ basketball championship when it gets into action at the Aga Khan University Sports and Rehabilitation Centre on Monday.

The draws of the event were taken out at the venue the other day. Besides, scrutiny of documents of competing teams, were also carried out on the occasion.

Holders Greenwich University has been seeded on top and placed in the upper half while last year’s runners-up NED University of Engineering and Technology has been seeded second and drawn at the bottom in the lower half. Both the outfits have got first round bye.

The winner and runners-up of the event will qualify for the final round which will be played at the Bahria University in Islamabad, later this month.

Competing teams: Greenwich University, Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Iobm, Institute of Business Administration, Karachi University, Iqra University, PAF Kiet, The Aga Khan University, Dow University of Health Sciences, Ziauddin University and NED University.

Monday’s fixtures: PAF Kiet v The Aga Khan University at 2pm; Iobm v IBA at 3.15pm; Dow University of Health and Sciences v Ziauddin University at 4.30pm.—Sports Correspondent
