PESHAWAR Jan 23: The provincial government constituted a revised special committee of scholars to assist the standing committee in finalizing the recommendations for the Civil Awards.

According to the notification, issued by the Sports, Culture and Tourism department, NWFP, the other day, the task of the committee would be to scrutinize the nominations made for the awards and to make recommendations to the standing committee.

The notification said that the body consisted of 18 members, which would be headed by the secretary, NWFP sports, culture and tourism department.

While the other members of the body are, Prof Pareshan Khattak, Chairman of Urdu department of Peshawar university, Dr Zahoor Ahmed Awan (Urdu Prose Writer), Director, Pashto Academy, University of Peshawar, The General Manager, PTV, Station Director, PBS Peshawar, The chairman of Fine Arts department of Peshawar University, The Dean, Islamiat department, Peshawar University, The Director of Information, The Director of Sports, NWFP, Rahimuallah Yousafzai (journalist), Akhanzada Mukhtar Ali Nayyar, (Journalist, writer, Hindko Scholar) , representative of Home department, Social and Welfare department, representative of Education, Health departments, and deputy secretary, culture, Director Culture, who will act as secretary of the committee.—PPI
