HYDERABAD, Jan 23: The Hussainabad police on Thursday got the possession of a government plot vacated from a constable following a protest demonstration by the residents of union council 1, who were led by their Nazim, Sher Mohammad Pirzada.

The protesters raised slogans against the constable, Soof Khan, of the Sindh Reserve Police.

They claimed that he had occupied a plot, located adjacent to the office of the Union Council-1 Nazim, Latifabad.

SHC: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Thursday has commuted the death sentence with life imprisonment of a convict in a murder case after considering the nature of the mitigating circumstances of the case.

The appellant lost his eyesight during his imprisonment.

The appeal on behalf of Abdul Razaque Shidi, a taxi driver, was filed by A. Bachayo Soomro before the court after he was sentenced to death by the second additional district judge, Hyderabad.

Shidi had faced trial of the case which had been registered by the Chambar police station after he allegedly axed to death a young boy, Javed.

The court commuted his capital punishment to life imprisonment.
