HYDERABAD, Jan 23: The district Nazim of Hyderabad, Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman, has said that necessary steps were being taken to procure funds for accelerating the pace of work on the development schemes of Qasimabad Taluka.

He was presiding over a meeting on Wednesday, which was specially convened to find out ways and means to resolve the problems of Qasimabad Taluka.

The district Nazim informed the meeting that the development schemes in the Taluka were being completed in consultation with the Nazims of union councils, and added that to avoid any complaints, equal funds had been distributed among the four union councils.

The district Nazim said that the district government was extending all possible assistance within its resources.

He assured that if more funds were needed for the completion of any development scheme, he would recommend to the government to give a helping hand.

The meeting was attended by Nazims and officials of four union councils of Qasimabad Taluka, Amir Ali Shah Jamote, Zahid Bhurgari, Nuzhat Pathan.

Besides, it was also attended by the district coordination officer, Mir Hussain Ali; the EDO (revenue), Shakeel Ahmed Naqvi; the director general, HDA, Shaheer Ahmed Junejo; and the managing director, WASA, Tahir Ahmed.

ARRESTED: The police have arrested 15 Patharedars, criminals and absconders besides seizing four pistols, six bullets and nine cartridges from their possession.

Dadu police picked up four absconders, two Patharedars and one criminal. Badin police apprehended two absconders and one criminal, while Sanghar police rounded up three absconders, one Patharedar, and one criminal.
