PESHAWAR, Feb 21: The top 10 students on merit admitted to Hakim Abdul Jalil Nadvi University College for Boys will be exempted from payment of tuition fee, said University of Peshawar vice-chancellor Prof Mohammad Rasul Jan.

Besides, students of the same college getting position among top 20 in the first-year examinations of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Peshawar, would be offered a total fee waiver in recognition of their hard work, said the VC during his visit to the college on Thursday.

According to a press release, Prof Jan also inaugurated spring plantation drive by planting a pine tree at the college lawns. He visited various sections of the college and ordered necessary renovation work.

Principal of the college Prof Mohammad Ishaq informed the VC that existing strength of the college was around 850, and from next year 300 more seats would be allocated to the pre-medical and pre-engineering candidates. The VC said that evaluation of subject teachers should be regularly done by students of the college and teachers showing excellent performance would get a handsome salary raise. —Bureau Report
