LAHORE, Jan 21: An accountability court on Tuesday remanded two directors of a motors company into seven-day transit custody of the NAB, following their arrest on Rs3.570 billion corruption charges.

The NAB informed the court that Muhammad Ramazan Khwaja and T.J. Ibrahim, directors of the Alliance Motors Corporation, Karachi, had been arrested from Lahore following the issuance of their arrest warrants by the NAB chairman.

The NAB sought one-week custody of the accused because of their trial before an accountability court of Karachi. The court allowed the application with directions to produce them before the Karachi accountability court.

As alleged by the NAB, the two director constituted the company for providing vehicles to its clients on loan against down payment and easy instalments. Allegedly, they collected Rs3.570 billion from different applicants and misappropriated the amount without providing the possession of vehicles to the applicants.
