KARACHI, Feb 20: The ‘Branchless Banking – Transforming Payments’ Conference and Exhibition organised by Dawn was held on Wednesday.

Deputy Governor State Bank of Pakistan Kazi Abdul Muqtadir was the chief guest on the occasion and delivered the key note address.

Over the years, there has been an increase in the number of mobile banking accounts, growth in electronic and online transactions, rise in agents’ network, security measures and fund transfers falling under the umbrella of Branchless Banking.

The conference invited leading international and local experts and practitioners on branchless banking.

Moreover the conference nearly had 300 participants primarily from the banking sector, mobile operators, technology companies, agent networks, regulators, government and donors.
