BANNU, Feb 18: Security forces and police during a search operation in Mandivla and Nawar localities arrested 16 suspects and recovered weapons from their possession.

In another incident, Bannu police foiled a terror attempt by defusing a 20-kilogram explosive material planted on a roadside. Police said some unknown terrorists had planted 20-kilogram explosive on a roadside in the thickly populated area of Sikandar Bhurt in the jurisdiction of Mandan police station, which was successfully defused by the personnel of the bomb disposal squad.—APP
