KARACHI: The Sindhi translations of works on and by distinguished Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz were launched at the National Museum of Pakistan on Wednesday.

Provincial Culture Minister Sassui Palijo was the chief guest at the event organised by the Sindh culture department in connection with the 102nd birth anniversary of the poet.

The books launched were: Faiz Ja Alys Daanh Khat (letters of Faiz written to his wife) by Shabnam Moti, Meezan (a compilation of the poet’s critical essays) by Dr Nawaz Ali Shoq, Faiz Ahmed Faiz Ain Pakistani Saqafat (Faiz and Pakistani culture) by Amanullah Sheikh, Ki Na Wisran Mor (Faiz’s memoirs) by Dr Sahar Imdad Husaini and Faiz Saan Rahadion (light-hearted meetings with Faiz) by Prof M. Salim Memon. Those who spoke at the gathering included M. Ali Manji, M.A. Abbasi, Nazir Laghari, Prof Aijaz Qureshi, Abdul Aziz Uqaili, Badar Ujjan, Rahat Saeed, Sahar Imdad, Amanullah Sheikh and Zafarullah Poshni.
