KARACHI, Jan 19: The Employees’ Oldage Benefits Institution (EOBI) has disbursed Rs9.475 billion among the pensioners since its inception.

A spokesman for the institution said on Saturday that more than 215,000 people had drawn pension from the EOBI last year. Giving figures, he said that more than 148,000 beneficiaries were oldage pensioners whereas about 47,000 were widows of the employees of industrial and commercial establishments.

He stated that the minimum pension drawn from the EOBI had been raised to Rs700.—APP
