QUETTA: Two policemen were gunned down here on Tuesday evening.

According to police, constables Ali Dad Hazara and Shamir Baloch were going on a motorcycle towards Sabzal road when they came under fire.

“Both the constables died on the spot having suffered multiple bullet injuries,” they said.

Police took the bodies to Bolan Medical College Hospital.

The assailants who were in a car escaped.

A little-known militant organisation, Jaish-ul-Islam, claimed responsibility for the attack.

Police said it appeared to be a sectarian attack.
