Sherwood outgun PBG

LAHORE, Jan 17: A five goal-burst helped Sherwood beat President Body Guard (PBG) 7-4 1/2 in the Samad memorial polo cup tournament on Friday.

PBG with 1/2 goal handicap scored four goals before the end of the second chukker while Sherwood scored two goals in the second chukker to make it 4 1/2 -2 with PBG in the lead.

Raja Sattar and Ahsan Javed Sher scored a goal each for PBG. Shehzad struck his first two goals before the first chukker ended as Sherwood were down 2 1/2-2.

In the second chukker, PBG scored two more quick goals one each from Mali Khan and Ahsan but there was no more success.

Thereafter, Sherwood scored five goals in a row to turn the tables on PBG with Shahzad Aziz slamming four goals for the winners.

Sherwood started the rally with Mir Shoaib scoring the third goal for them.

Shehzad struck his third goal to make it 4- 1/2-4 at the end of third chukker.

In the fourth chukker, Adnan Lone brought Sherwood ahead for the first time 5- 4 1/2.

Later, Shehzad banged home his fourth goal and Maula Bakhsh chipped in with a goal to make the tally.

Earlier, Askari Waters defeated Sunday TV 12-10 in eight chukker match of the Lahore Polo Club Cup tournament which was played over two days.
