KARACHI, Jan 26: Makran Sports, Nawab Eleven and Sharafi Mohammadan secured their places in the semi-finals of the DG Rangers Sindh Football Tournament here on Saturday.

While Makran Sports and Nawab Eleven progressed after winning their quarter-finals in regulation time, Sharafi Mohammadan advanced after a nerve-wracking penalty shootout at the People’s Sports Complex.

Goals in either half by Shehzad Salim (13th minute) and Pervaiz Ibrahim (63rd) helped Makran Sports ease past Baloch Mohammadan 2-0 while Faiz Mohammad’s 26th minute strike sealed a 1-0 victory for Nawab Eleven against Shafi Eleven.

The match between Sharafi Mohammadan and Malir Star ended goalless after full-time before the former prevailed 5-4 in a penalty shootout.
