ISLAMABAD: Former Member of National Assembly from the Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q), Begum Shehnaz Sheikh, has submitted a list of 'dual national' lawmakers in an open letter to the Supreme Court's Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, DawnNews reported on Monday.

The letter has alleged that cases of all dual national lawmakers have not been dealt with equally.

The Supreme Court had suspended Sheikh's National Assembly membership for allegedly holding Australian citizenship in Oct 2012.

The letter has listed the names of 20 'dual national' lawmakers and alleges that some of those remain at their posts.

The former lawmaker also alleged that she was not justly dealt with despite her resignation.

Sheikh further claimed that all dual national lawmakers had not been equally treated, adding that not all legislators holding dual nationality had been asked to return the monetary benefits they had drawn during their tenure in public office and other emoluments from the public exchequer, including monthly remunerations, TA/DA and facilities of accommodation along with other perks.

She requested the court to stop all proceedings of reimbursement of monetary benefits granted to disqualified lawmakers until a decision was reached on a review appeal filed against the Supreme Court's judgment against lawmakers for holding dual nationality.
