DUBAI, Jan 16: A 37-year-old Pakistani, who is identified by the initials of his name as G. M. S., was sentenced by a Dubai court to a 10-year jail term and fined Dh50,000.

A report states that the convict had brought 62.95gm heroin concealed in his shoes last November from Pakistan. But he reportedly denied of any knowledge of the drug in his possession.

The court, that convicted him of the crime, observed that the convict “had no intention of trafficking the drug.”

According to details Salman had paid the convict Rs20,000 and a return ticket for handing over two pairs of shoes to someone in Dubai, said the report published in the daily Khaleej Times.
