KARACHI, Jan 16: Four eyewitnesses picked out as many suspects during an identification parade held before a judicial magistrate on Wednesday in the Ayesha Manzil bomb blast case.

The police produced the four suspects — Ayub, Mohtamim Khan, Bilal and Tauseef Ali — before Judicial Magistrate (central) Zaheer Ahmed court for the identification parade.

After completing the required formalities, the suspects were lined up along with dummies and the court called the witnesses to identify them.

Four eyewitnesses, who also sustained injuries in the blast, identified the four suspects and deposed that the latter parked an explosives-laden motorcycle in the parking area and detonated it through a remote control shortly after their departure in a rickshaw from the scene of crime.

The names of witnesses were not disclosed due to security reasons.

According to the prosecution, at least four people were killed and around 50 others injured in a bomb attack near Ayesha Manzil on Jan 1 when a large number of people were boarding buses in the parking area after attending a public meeting of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

The suspects are in police custody till Jan 26.
