Rain likely today

LAHORE, Jan 15: Islamabad and upper parts of the country are likely to receive rain on Wednesday (today), says the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

According to a weather advisory on Tuesday, the Met department said another weather system was likely to grip most parts of Pakistan on Wednesday and expected to last till Friday evening.

Under its influence, scattered rain is expected in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, North Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the period, while widespread rain/showers might occur over upper Punjab (Lahore, Gujranwala and Sahiwal divisions) and Kashmir on Thursday and Friday.

Snowfall is also expected over the hills of Murree, Galliyat, Malakand, Hazara divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Isolated rain is also expected along Sindh-Makran coast on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The local Met office forecast partly cloudy weather with chances of rain in Lahore on Wednesday.

It expected mainly cold weather over most parts of the country with mist over southern Punjab and Upper Sindh on Wednesday.

However thunderstorm/rain with snowfall over the hills is likely to occur at scattered places of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
