LAHORE, Jan 4: Two more matches were decided on Friday in the first Women’s Challenge Cup hockey tournament with Wapda and Pakistan Railways marching into the final of the event.

Wapda outclassed Army 3-0 in the first match of the day to emerge as top team of the event with ten points, leaving behind Pakistan Railways at the second spot with seven points at the end of the league matches.

Wapda’s Azra Nasir struck two field goals in the 39th and 69th minutes, while Aqeela Naseem cashed in on a short-corner in the 49th minute to complete the tally for the winning side.

Also, Punjab thumped Sindh 3-0 in the second match qualifying for the third position match against Army.

Bushra Nazir fired two goals for Punjab in the 33rd and 61st with Asma Ashraf chipping in with one goal in the 56th.

The final and third position matches will be played on Sunday.
