LAHORE, Jan 3: The main mourning procession taken out to mark Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain peacefully terminated at Karbala Gamay Shah on Thursday.

Appeared from Haveli Alif Shah (Near Delhi Gate), the procession was attended by thousands of people. It passed through its traditional route via Hakeema Wala Bazaar, Lohari and various parts of the Walled City and concluded at Karbala Gamay Shah.

Scores of police officials and volunteers of the City District Government of Lahore accompanied the procession. The CDGL had also established a control room at the DCO office to monitor the proceedings through 120 CCTV cameras.

URS: The 969th annual Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh concluded here on Thursday.

Thousands of devotees flocked to the shrine and took part in devotional activities in three days. Dole-outs and milk sabeel attracted many.

bikes seized: Police impounded 205 motorcycles for violating the pillion-riding ban on the chehlum of Hazrat Imam Husain (RA) on Thursday.

Policemen deployed on roads and crossings checked the violators, impounded their motorcycles and registered cases with local police stations.

Around 43 motorcycles were seized in Civil Lines division followed by 37 in Iqbal Town, 34 in Cantt, 33 in city, 31 in Model Town and 27 in Sadar division.
