LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana and Lahore Commissioner Maryam Khan chaired a meeting to review security arrangements for the Muharramul Haram.

The organisers of the processions, license holders of Majails, including Agha Shah Hussain Qazalbash, Maulana Rai Zafar, Nawab Muzaffar Ali Khan Qazalbash, Makhdoom Sher Abbas, Pir Syed Noor Bahadur Shah and Syed Zawar, as well as officers concerned were present.

The joint meeting stressed upon the organisers of majalis/processions and license holders to cooperate with the police in order to avoid any inconvenience or security lapse.

The CCPO told the participants that matters concerning sensitive trouble points across the city would be resolved well in advance through consultation and mutual understanding. He said police would streamline participant checking and security screening procedures in coordination with organisers and volunteers.

The meeting also discussed various civic issues, including road repairs along procession routes, installation of streetlights, anti-dengue spray campaigns and sewerage-related concerns.

Commissioner Maryam Khan said the district administration would extend full support to police in maintaining peace during Muharram.

Assuring participants of effective arrangements and the prompt resolution of issues, she said district administration offices would remain fully accessible to organizers and license holders for addressing their concerns. The CCPO and the

commissioner appreciated the efforts of religious scholars in promoting peace and harmony.
