LAHORE, Jan 2: Jamaat-i-Islami amir Syed Munawar Hasan says certain forces at the behest of foreign powers are creating uncertainty in the country to wind up the democratic process.

A press released said he called upon all patriotic parties to realise the gravity of the situation and work out a common line of action.

“It is the prime duty of the patriotic political and religious parties to agree on a one-point agenda and pressure the government to immediately come up with a caretaker setup and announce the election schedule,” he said.

He said the gang of four ruling the country – the PPP, the MQM, the ANP and the PML-Q – had disappointed the masses due to their alleged bad governance, corruption, price hike and lawlessness. He said the masses were determined to settling score with them in the election. Sensing this, the foreign masters of these rulers had risen up to create instability here, he said.

He said the threats of converting Islamabad into Tehrir Square and the call to the army to support the revolution indicated this as a conspiracy to put off the polls and roll back democracy. — Staff Reporter
