SARGODHA, Jan 13: A no-confidence motion was moved against Sillanwali Tehsil Council Nazim Rana Munawwar Ghaus and Naib Nazim Allah Ditta Noon on Monday.

Both the Nazim and the Naib Nazim were removed from their offices after 14 out of 23 members of the House expressed no-confidence in them at a council meeting presided over by convener Rai Khuda Bakhsh Bhatti.

The meeting was attended by Abdullah Sobhi, Rai Khuda Bakhsh Bhatti, Amir Abdullah Bhatti, Malik Mohammad Ramzan Dholka, Chaudhry Gulzar Aziz, Rai Hafeezullah Bhatti, Amjad Pervaiz Natt, Haji Bashir Ahmad, Rai Mohammad Hayat, Ejaz Ahmad Bhatti, Chaudhry Rafiq Masih, Sarwat Amin, Anwari Begum and Anwar Bibi.

Speaking on the occasion, Hafeezullah Bhatti, Amjad Pervaiz, Gulzar Aziz and Sarwat Amin alleged that Rana Munawwar promoted corruption and nepotism.

Rana Munawwar was enjoying the support of district Nazim Malik Amjad Ali Noon who reportedly tried to foil the bid to table the no-confidence motion. The move was sponsored reportedly by former minister Chaudhry Farrukh Javed Ghuman, the brother-in-law of MNA Chaudhry Anwar Ali Cheema.

It is learnt that Anwar Cheema group is likely to field Chaudhry Faisal Javed Ghuman, the son of Chaudhry Farrukh Javed, for the top slot.
