TAXILA, Dec 30: A man was killed and his son critically injured in a failed robbery attempt, in the village of Bhasser, in the limits of Hassanabdal police station. Police officials said that the victim after selling his land was keeping a large amount of money in his house. On Saturday night, four men came to his house to rob him off his money but there was resistance and the robbers opened indiscriminate fire. Later, the robbers managed to escape. Hassanabdal Police registered a case against the unknown dacoits and started further investigation.

In a second incident Hassanabdal police arrested five dacoits, during a raid at a hideout located at Pathargarh road, on Sunday.

During the raid, ammunition and firearms were recovered and a case was registered against the accused.—Correspondent
