MULTAN, Oct 9: “A Tehrik-i-Jafria leader is giving a false colour of terrorism to the accident in which his guard was killed and his son was injured.”

This was stated by Pharmaceutical Distributor Association, Multan, president Saeed Qureshi, at a press conference here on Tuesday.

On Sunday last, TJP leader Muntazir Mehdi’s son Ali Haider and guard Haq Nawaz sustained injuries when their motorcycle collided with a car owned by Mr Qureshi.

His son Khurram was driving the car when the incident took place. Later, Mr Mehdi declared it an act of terrorism on the part of car driver and demanded that police should register a murder case against Khurram. In the FIR, Mr Mehdi said this act of terrorism was financed by a terrorist organization.

Mr Qureshi said the son of Mr Mehdi told newsmen in the hospital that it was an accident.

Mr Qureshi said Haider’s motorcycle collided with the car when he (Haider) was trying to overtake a jeep. The accident was the result of over speeding on the part of Haider, he claimed.

He declined that his family had connection with any sectarian organization. — Nauman
