Pollution in Jamshoro

Published December 19, 2012

A COUPLE of months ago my family shifted to Sindh University Society, Jamshoro, to reduce the distance covered by me and my husband to reach our workplaces.

I was surprised to see the pathetic conditions of the area. Garbage was littered almost everywhere. Every vacant piece of land was full of trash.

This is an open invitation to contagious diseases. The Society shops sell various mosquito sprays and coils in view of the pollution.

I wonder why we don’t see a single sweeper in the area. There is no functional administration that can resolve such grave issues and help people get rid of this menace.

A majority of the people living in the area are quite affluent and are working in nearby universities. They also are indifferent to this alarming issue.

I request the administration concerned and the residents to take some effective measures to improve the situation.
