SHEIKHUPURA: The regional police nabbed a gang of kidnappers, recovered the ransom it had taken from the family of a boy kidnapped last month, and returned the money to the family on Monday.

The kidnappers had abducted Zeeshan on Nov 16 last year and released him after his family paid a ransom of Rs300,000. Sheikhupura police conducted raids, arrested the gang from Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and recovered the ransom amount. The gang’s ringleader was killed in a raid.

Regional Police Officer Zulfiqar Cheema distributed cash prizes among the police team involved in the case. On the occasion, Cheema said the police would bear the expenses of Zeeshan’s education so that he could become an able police officer. Zeeshan’s parents said they were proud of their security force. — Correspondent
