HYDERABAD, Jan 11: The Anti-Terrorism Court, Hyderabad, here on Saturday sentenced three convicts to seven-year rigorous imprisonment and Rs50,000 fine each in a police encounter case.

In default of payment of fine, they will have to suffer another year of imprisonment.

Ramo Kolhi, Harchand alias Krishan Bheel and Lakho Kolhi were arrested by the Chambar police on Jan 16, 2001, following a police encounter.

A police party was going to recover a hostage when it was fired on by the convicts. The police returned the fire. However, no one was injured in the encounter. A Kalashnikov and two guns were recovered from the possession of the convicts.
