PESHAWAR, Dec 14: Mehran Javed winning spree continued on Friday when he defeated qualifier Farhan by 3-1 in the NBP National Under-17 Boys Squash Championship being played here at the PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex.

Mehran faced little resistance from Farhan in the first match where Farhan took the first game by 10-12. Both Mehran and Farhan fought hard for a single point tying the game at 5-5, 6-6, 7-7, 8-8, 9-9, 10-10, but in the end Farhan smashed two forceful shots from the back of the court to win the game 10-12.

In the second game Mehran Javed staged a strong comeback scoring 11-9, 11-6 and 11-9 to seal the fate of rival at 3-1.

In the second match Asfandiyar beat Shehzad Khan 11-9, 11-3, 11-7 while Liaqat Ali eliminated Waqas Younis in the thrilling five-set battle with the score being 10-12, 4-11, 11-8, 11-9, 12-10.

In the other matches Arbab Aziz Khan beat Iqtidar 3-1, 11-8, 11-5, 6-11, 11-9, while Aamir Khan overpowered Kibrayia 10-12, 12-10, 8-11, 11-7, 11-7.

Likewise, Ahmad Ali beat Waqas Khan 5-11, 11-9, 11-7, 11-5, Ahsan defeated Zeeshan 12-10, 4-11, 11-8, 11-6 and Munir beat Usman 12-10, 11-8, 8-11, 11-9.

In the under-11 category, Ahmad Hassan beat Asad 11-9, 11-7, 11-8, Zeeshan beat Hamad11-7, 11-3, 11-8, Hamza beat Maviya 11-6, 11-4, 11-7, Uzair Shoukat beat Abdul Ahad 11-9, 12-10, 11-9, Rashid Daulat beat Ali Sher 11-8, 11-5, 11-8 and Bilal beat Khezar Hayat 13-11, 12-10 and 11-9.—APP
