LAHORE, Dec 10: Declaring six more residential schemes illegal, the Lahore Development Authority on Monday appealed to the public at large to avoid buying any sort of residential or commercial plots there.
The schemes include Lalazar Garden (80-foot Peeco Road near Marghazar Cooperative Housing Society), Munir Garden (Thokar Niaz Beg Road), Fateh Villas (near Pak Arab Housing Scheme, Chandrai Road, near Ferozepur Road), Grand Avenue Housing Scheme (28-km Ferozepur Road), Vital Homes adjacent to Pak Arab Housing Scheme (Ferozepur Road) and Green Park Housing Scheme (near Hadiara drain, Ferozepur Road).
“The LDA informs the public at large that the various people have launched six private housing schemes unlawfully in the LDA’s controlled area without any sort of approval. So the public, prospective buyers and the investors are hereby requested in their own interest not to make any investment in the form of buying or selling plots in the aforementioned schemes,” says an LDA spokesman.
He asked the people verify the legal status of these schemes from LDA before making any investment or transaction there. The LDA would not be responsible in case of any financial loss suffered by anyone.
The spokesman warned the owners/developers of these schemes to stop sale of plots, execution of development works etc, failing which a strict legal action would be taken against them.
ORDERS: Lahore Commissioner Jawad Rafique Malik on Monday ordered the authorities concerned to ensure removal of all sorts of wall chalking in all nine towns of the city and submit a report to him within 48 hours.
Presiding over a meeting, the commissioner also directed the town administrators, TMOs, Lahore Waste Management Company and other concerned officials to also launch a crackdown on illegal slaughterhouses in the city and submit a report to him within two days.
He also sought arrest of those throwing debris and garbage etc on roads and streets instead of putting these in the covered cabins installed by the LWMC and TMAs.
VEHICLES: District Road Transportation Authority (DRTA) on Monday impounded 53 intercity buses for overcharging, overloading and having substandard CNG/LPG cylinders.
According to DRTA Secretary Moshin Rashid, various special squads also cancelled route permits of another 20 vehicles for violating the rules.
