Foundation Day of Malakand university

PESHAWAR, Jan 9: Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah will be the chief guest on the foundation day of Malakand University on Saturday.

The university had completed its one year of existence. It was established at Chakdara, Lower Dir district, and had its campus at Sheringal to facilitate the students of Upper Dir district.

The vice-chancellor of the university, Dr Jehandar Shah, told APP that the university was imparting education in six disciplines including computer science, biotechnology, pharmacy, mathematics, sociology and English.

EDUCATION MOOT: The NWFP government has nominated Tariq Jamil, secretary higher education, to attend an international seminar on ‘Education for All’ to be held at Washington from Jan 27 to Feb 7.

The federal ministry of education had written to the provincial government to nominate a person to attend the seminar.—PPI/APP
