LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said the ruling coalition of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and allied parties are not sincere in restoring peace in Karachi, DawnNews reported.

Speaking to a delegation headed by former chief minister Sindh Liaqat Jatoi at his residence in Raiwind, Sharif expressed his concerns on worsening law and order situation in Karachi.

Critisising the government, he said the authorities have failed to follow the Supreme Court’s directives on cracking down against ‘militant wings’ of different political parties. “Restoration of peace in Karachi is only possible through an unbiased administration and non-political police force,” said the PML-N chief.

Former provincial minister in Sindh, Abdul Hakeem Baloch, former member Sindh Assembly and the PTI leader, Michael Javed, former president PPP Jacobabad chapter, Aslam Abro, renowned industrialist of Karachi, Asif Qureshi, former DIG Akber Bhangwar, Muhammad Saleem Baloch, Riaz Ahmed Baloch and Abdul Ghani Kaloti announced to join the PML-N on the occasion.

Nawaz Sharif vowed resolving the Karachi issue on priority if come into power in the upcoming elections. “Those who are responsible for playing with peace of the city of lights will face stern actions,” he added.
