PESHAWAR, Dec 3: Tribal elders and members of civil society organisations expressed concern over the lawlessness in Fata and stressed the need for citizens to play role to restore peace in the region.
These views were expressed by participants at a meeting held at Drazinda village of FR D.I. Khan on Monday. Local organisations working for uplift of the area and media persons attended the meeting.
The meeting was organised by civil society organisations with support of Strengthening Participatory Organisation (SPO), according to a press release.
Speakers said Fata was suffering due to terrorism and militancy which had destroyed peace in the region.
“Thousands of tribal people have been killed, injured and many forced out of their houses and villages and live as internally displaced persons.
