MITHI, Jan 9: A group of former employees of the defunct Sindh Arid Zone Development Authority (Sazda), Thar region, took out a procession from the bus stand and staged a sit-in outside the press club here on Wednesday to press the government to adjust them in other departments.

Talking to the protesters, their representatives — Sattar Sarki, Gulab Singh and others — said the government should adjust 650 employees of Sazda in other departments to save their families from starvation.

They warned that they would be compelled to resort to extreme measures if the employees were not given alternative jobs. They said some bureaucrats were creating impediments in the implementation of the notification of their adjustment in other departments.
