LAHORE, Nov 28: The Pakistan Medical Association’s Lahore chapter will hold its biennial elections on Dec 30.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the PMA executive committee held at the PMA House on Wednesday with Dr Tanveer Anwar in the chair.

At the meeting, Dr Sarwar Chaudhry was elected chief election commissioner and Dr Muhammad Sadiq and Dr Shahid Shaukat Malik deputy election commissioners.

The house unanimously resolved to extend special thanks to the leadership of the PMA, the YDA and the Medical Teachers Association, Punjab, for their contribution to resolve the service structure issue.

The house appreciated the efforts of Senator Ishaq Dar, Khwaja Salman Rafiq and others to come up with a positive solution. It also extended special thanks to the chief minister for approving the service structure.

Through another resolution, the PMA office bearers condemned the hidden hands who were trying to implicate PIC doctors in the drug reaction case. It was decided that the PMA would stand by these doctors at each and every forum.
