THREE days in a row on Nov 20, 21, and 22, the column ‘50 years ago today’ showed that history has not changed. America is giving massive arms supplies to India supposedly against China. However, we have ourselves to blame for our wrong policies, corruption, inefficiency, bias, intolerance, and politics at every level. We must learn from history.

We lost half of our country and find ourselves heading that way again but the tragedy is that we are not trying to save our country. Even with America’s tilt towards India always, we first destroyed East Pakistan, following the wrong policies instead of concentrating on rectifying the myriad problems we have. We are now facing again the futile battle in Afghanistan.

Selfishness, arrogance and foolishness continue to break the backbone of Pakistan. We are not building ourselves, spreading literacy and dealing severely with violence. Our leaders are helping others to destroy Pakistan. Let us end this scenario and concentrate on ourselves as the inept leaders will continue to ruin us.
