KARACHI, Jan 7: Mohammad Tahir’s late second half winner helped Burma Mohammadan cruise into main round of the All-Pakistan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto football tournament after a 1-0 victory over Jamal Mohammadan Tuesday.

After a barren first half, Tahir found the cage in the 69th minute.

Jam XI also reached the final round after a 4-2 win over Mohammadi Sports.

Jam XI got their first through Fateh Mohammad in the 21st minute, while Abdur Razzaq slotted home the second three minutes later. Maqbool Ahmad reduced the margin for Mohammadi Sports in the 31st minute.

Jam XI, however, mainatained their domination yet into the second half and surged 3-1 ahead when Imdad Hussain was on target in the 48th minute, while Razzaq got his double in the 65th minute.

Mohammad Saffar netted the second for Mohammadi Sports in the 80th minute.

Allahdad Mohammadan also qualified for the main round after a 2-0 triumph over Muslim Star.

Ahmad Ali blasted home a Ejaz Ahmad pass in the 56th minute, and Mohammad Aslam’s solo effort in the 64th minute sealed the fate of the match.
