This is with reference to Nabiha Gul’s letter, “Asthma: preventive measures” (Nov 12). The writer’s efforts are praiseworthy regarding Asthma. I want to add some more points.

The high-tech lifestyle of people has distanced us from nature. "Nature is fuel for the soul" says Richard Ryan, lead author and a professor of psychology at the University of Rochester.

Nature puts a positive influence on human health and behaviour, the fresh air helps in preventions that cause to trigger hyper sensitivity reaction or asthma among patients.

The heaps of trash burnt by people believing that it will help get rid of mosquitoes causes difficulty in breathing for even those who are not allergic to such diseases.

This practice should be stopped as it only contributes to the growing pollution and does no good to people.

The use of coal in any form adds to air pollution. Coal smoke contains many chemicals known to cause health problems, including arsenic, carbon monoxide and lead.

Coal smoke has many similarities to cigarette smoke, explained Kirk Smith, a professor of global environmental health at the University of California, Berkeley.

With the growing pollution the risks of airborne allergies increases among people.

Little changes in lifestyle could contribute a lot to health. Love green, grow green and live near green.
