Suicide bid

GUJAR KHAN, Nov 8: Two persons, one in police lockup, tried to commit suicide here on Thursday.

According to sources, mentally deranged Mohammad Sharif shot himself with a 44 bore rifle of his relative.

He was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Gujar Khan and later on referred to holy family hospital, Rawalpindi.

In another incident Sadaqat Hussain alias Shoka a proclaimed offender and resident of Ramial village was being interrogated by Mandra police under the suspicion of theft, when he set himself on fire.

It happened while he was in the lockup.

According to ASP Ms Saba Sitar, the victim has been shifted to holy family hospital and he is being treated for burn wounds and is almost out of danger. —Hamid Asghar
