KARACHI, Nov 23: The Aga Khan Health Service, in collaboration with the cardiology and family medicine departments of the Aga Khan University, organized a seminar to launch their heart health awareness programme.

The chairman of the AKHS, Dr Hanif Esmail, said that the awareness campaign would go a long way towards decreasing the incidence of coronary artery disease.

Dr Khawar Kazmi, head of the cardiology department of the AKU, gave a detailed account of the risk factors for the coronary heart diseases and how to reduce them.

Dr Sunita Dodani stressed the need for managing stress in everyday life and demonstrated relaxation exercises which could help relieve stress and anxiety.

Other speakers on the occasion were Dr Pervez Nayani, vice chairman of the AKHS, and Dr Riaz Qureshi, head of family medicine department in AKU.—APP
