KARACHI, Oct 15: A policeman was shot dead in Gulshan-i-Ghazi in Baldia Town on Monday, police said.

The police said that gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on 41-year-old constable, who was standing outside his home near the terminal of route G-7 minibus, and rode away. He died on the spot. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.

Mochko SHO Imtiaz Jat said that the victim was posted at the west security zone.

He was father of three and originally hailed from Chichawatni.

The area SHO suspected that the killing was carried out for some personal motives.

However, the second suspect managed to escape but he was caught by the Sharea Faisal police. The held suspect was identified as Habibullah and a pistol was recovered from his possession.

The deceased was identified as Sattar Brohi, the police said, adding that both the men were associates of the Arshad Pappu gang.
